Special Events

New in 2010 is our annual May banquet honoring mothers and daughters. This year's speaker was Jennifer Haines of the Seward House, telling us about the lives of the women in Secretary of State William H. Seward's family. Each year will have a new theme drawn from the rich attractions of Auburn, "History's Hometown."

Winter Wonderland of Quilts is held each January in our sanctuary by Scrap Happy Friends, a group of members and friends of our church who share a love for music and quilting, and have great talent for both!

The 2007 show featured Friendship Quilts shown in the pictures. Each member made nine blocks of the same pattern, and exchanged them with other members to make nine unique quilts each with a block made by each member.

Quilts cover every pew.

We welcome friends who love quilting and we thank them for their generous gifts to the Calvary Food Pantry left in our Narthex each year on the day of the show.

Quilts cover the choir's usual pews, which are backed by Keck stained glass windows rebuilt from our old church shown on the right below (more: history page, windows page).

The colors in the quilts and in the Keck windows are beautiful this winter morning.
